What are values?
A value is a belief, a principle, or a philosophy of a person, who follows it and considers as meaningful, worthwhile and desirable, and decide what is right and wrong before act in any situation.
Different people practice different values and these values vary from person to person because they depend on their personal judgement. Whether we are consciously aware of them or not, every one of us has some personal values. There are certain things that we need to do and implement for betterment of ourselves and for the society. We practice values not for money or success, but we believes in them. Our values display our character. Values have major influence on a person’s behavior and attitude and serve as broad guidelines in all situations.
Mahatma Gandhi rightly said the following lines:-
“If wealth is lost nothing is lost
If health is lost something is lost
If character is lost everything is lost”
A Chinese proverb says
“If there is righteousness in the heart, there will be beauty in character, if there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home, when there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation, when there is order in the nation there will be peace in the world”.
We must love our own values in life, to build a strong character. When we build hous, we begin with the foundation. Because, the foundation is the most important part of the house, though, we may be able to see it when finished. In the same way, core values are vital to the structural integrity of our personal lives.

The essence of these values is, if we practice some of them, the other values will follow without our consciousness. Then you need to prioritize your list of values and practice in your day to day life for the sake of your personality and for society.
Practing good values leads to success
Applying personal values in our daily lives generate a great power for success and happiness, if companies follow ethics and practice values by maintaining good quality of service or products, it leads to
success. In the business world, the value of practicing good values is appreciated. It produces good results and unlimited profits.
The importance of morals and values
What we hear every day in news papers and electronic media – corrupt politicians, educated rapists, unethical CEOs, top bureaucrats plundering government funds with connivance etc. All these things are happening because of not practicing good values. These values are established codes that we need to live by, in a civil society at best. We learn values from parents, teachers and through ethical education. If we and our teachers preach and practice good values, our children will follow us by watching and gradually develop their own sense of right and wrong.
Are your values are valuable?
If one can show and tell their parents, children, spouse and relatives what he or she is doing and still feel proud, then that is a good value system. People with good character and right values are not for sale and can’t be lured.
Commitment
Commitment is the state of being dedicated to an activity or a cause. Commitment is one of the essential attributes of values. Our strength of character shows how we keep our commitment. Failure to keep a commitment spoils relationships, and leads to loss of credentials. Strong relationships are typically bonded with strong commitments.
